Tablets No. 1292

Sodium succinate was used as a urinary alkalizer to raise the pH of urine. The drug was given during times of bacterial infections in the urinary tract to reduce the burning sensation and to provide a basic environment where bacteria could not continue to reproduce. The average listed adult dose was for 1 to 3 tablets every 4 hours. The sodium succinate tablets were distributed in a mouth–blown brown glass bottle with a black bakalite screw top.
