Antimony and Potassium Tartrate is a powerful drug that induces vomiting to eliminate unwanted or toxic compounds from the digestive system. In addition to inducing vomiting, antimony and potassium tartrate were utilized in the treatment of schistosomiasis (parasitic worms) and leishmaniasis (protozoan parasites). The only current application of antimony and potassium tartrate is in studying the diet of captured animals by causing them to vomit.

The clear glass bottle was mouth blown with evidence of air bubbles in the walls of the glass, dating the medicine vial to the late 18th century.
