Small mouth–blown glass bottle with tan label that reads, "Combination Tablets/ No. 145". This bottle was distributed by Boericke & Tafel, which had originally opened in 1853 as a small book store in Philadelphia.
The tablets in this bottle were used to treat "symptoms due to hay–fever, spasmodic sneezing, with running noes" and teary eyes.
Ingredients include:
Sabadilla– Is still used to treat sinus congestion, allergies, and hay fever.
Arundo Mauritancia– Used to treat symptoms of hay fever.
Solidago Virgaurea– AKA Golden Rod. Has many uses including curing symptoms of allergies and colds. Mostly commonly used in Europe as a treatment for urinary tract inflammation and a prevention against kidney stones.
Ambrosia Artemisiaefolia– Made from ragweed. Is used to reduce symptoms of hay fever, especially itching and tearing of the eyes.
Acid Succinicum crudum– Used to cure hay fever.
