Description / History:
This Analytical Balance Scale for Apothecary Jeweler Scientific was made by Henry Troemner for Arthur H. Thomas Co. in Philadelphia, PA. There is a walnut wooden and glass case with a pull up window in the front to access the interior. The trays are made of glass held in place by wire frames This style scale was typically manufactured in the late 19th and early 20th centurys. However, the Arthur H. Thomas Company was formed in 1900, so this particular scale was likely manufactured sometime after 1900. The instrument was repaired by John P. Muller Associates in New Rochelle NY on February 3, 1949 indicating it was in use well into the middle of the 20th century.
