Description / History:
Military suture kit in tan canvas roll–up case and string ties. Ten slots for nine instruments and two side pockets are present but empty. Some instruments are chrome plated and some are stainless steel. All made in either Germany or USA. Owner's name written on bag in three places is regrettably illegible.
Instruments include forceps, scissors and a director. The director happens to be made by A. C. Barnes Co. Inc., who's owner was none other than the famous scientist and art collector Albert Barnes. He made his fortune from discovering and selling Argyrol and, today, the famous Barnes Museum is a museum in Philadelphia, PA dedicated to his copious amounts of collected artwork.
Although this kit is dated from 1910, due to the style of some of the instruments and the relative cleanliness of the overall kit, it was most likely used post–WWI and sometime closer to 1958.
